Singapore, 24 December: A record 81 companies from 14 countries have made it to the final round of the 2018 Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA). An independent panel of judges evaluated the entries to shortlist the finalists. Winners for the 17 award categories will be announced at an exclusive gala dinner event on 6 March 2019 in Singapore.

ASRA is the highest recognition for sustainability reporting and integrated reporting in the region. A non-profit initiative, ASRA’s mission is to inspire more companies to adopt sustainability reporting by recognising and honouring the best reports.

The 2018 Awards are being offered in 17 categories including Asia’s Best Sustainability Report, Best Integrated Report, Best Sustainability Report (SME), and Best First Time Sustainability Report. Other award categories include specialised areas of reporting, such as environment, carbon disclosure, stakeholder engagement, workplace, supply chain, and community commitment. The 2018 Awards include two new categories: Asia’s Best Diversity Reporting and Asia’s Best Report Design. The best overall submission will be honoured with Asia’s Sustainability Report of the Year award.

A spokesperson from the ASRA Secretariat said, “ASRA 2018 received a record number of entries from companies across Asia. This year’s entries also reflect significant improvement in the quality of reports across the board. The trend indicates that more companies in the region are taking reporting seriously. We expect a heightened competition for each award category.”
