Arif Khan, now serving as the CEO and Managing Director of IDLC Finance Limited, boasts a career spanning over two decades where he played vital roles at the core of various prestigious local, multinational and government organizations in the financial service sector.

His latest stint prior to joining IDLC Finance limited, has been a board level position at the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) where he served as one of the four commissioners responsible for the development of the capital market of Bangladesh. Prior to this responsibility, he served IDLC Finance for 15 years and played a big part in establishing it as one of the leading financial brands in Bangladesh before leaving as the Deputy Managing Director. During his tenure, he successfully got the SME and Consumer Division operations off the ground which now constitute over 80% of IDLC’s total business. Two separate businesses, IDLC Investments & IDLC Securities were also launched under his leadership, all of which have grown manifold.

Mr. Khan holds an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University as well as a Master of Commerce degree in Finance and Banking from the same university.

Mr. Khan is a Fellow Member (FCMA) of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), where he occupied the role of the president in 2016. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter and is member of the CFA Institute, USA. He was also the Founding President of Bangladesh CFA Society and Bangladesh Merchant Bankers’ Association (BMBA).

An advocate of teamwork, Arif Khan believes that the most important thing for a true leader is a team player who respects everyone, listens to everyone and makes everyone feel that they are also in the game regardless of their position.
