Kevin brings with him 20 years of combined working experience in the energy (including renewables), shipping and ports industries in both multi-national and government-linked companies across different functions such as sustainability, safety & health, corporate planning, procurement and branding throughout his working career. He has been in the sustainability practice for 10 years and currently heads two portfolios (Sustainability as well as Health, Safety & Environment) in his current company He also sits on the Group Sustainability Committee of parent company, YTL Corporation. Kevin has been instrumental in the initiation, development and implementation of his current company’s Sustainability/CSR vision and strategy which has seen the creation of many corporate-wide initiatives such as sustainability performance reporting, the responsible procurement policy as well as customer and community engagement initiatives on sustainability. His achievements in his field of sustainability have seen him receive the EcoFriend Award 2015 (Private Sector) from the National Environment Agency and for his company – the Singapore Environmental Achievement Award (MERIT) in 2011 and the Best Sustainability Reporting Award from ACCA in 2009 & 2010. In his personal capacity, he is a District Councillor in the Environment Functional Committee of the South West Community Development Council where he advises and provides guidance on environmental matters affecting the community in the South West District. Kevin has a multi-discipline academic background. He graduated with a MSc in Environment & Planning from RMIT University, Australia after completing his Graduate Diploma in International Environmental Management from the University of Adelaide, Australia (a program endorsed by the United Nations Environmental Programme). His first degree is a B.Eng (Electrical Engineering) from the Nanyang Technological University.
