Sarimah Talib, is a passionate sustainability steward who believes in playing her role to leave a positive legacy for a better world. She is currently the Head of the Sustainability at UEM Sunrise Berhad since August 2021. Her new role is to establish a new Sustainability Division that is responsible to orchestrate sustainability stragically. Prior to her appointment, she had assumed key roles including the Chief Sustainability Officer at Vale Malaysia and heading the corporate Sustainable Development Management at PETRONAS. She was the first Chief Executive Officer appointed by the Minister of Green Technology, Energy and Water in 2013. Her career in sustainability began in Sime Darby where she held her post as the Head of Sustainability and Quality Management since 2008. She graduated as a Chemical and Process Engineer and obtained her Masters in Environmental Engineering and is a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia. She had represented Malaysia in many international events presenting sustainability related papers.
