Pham Hoang Hai
Head of the Secretariat, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)
With more than 23 years of experience, Mr. Hai had a valuable contribution to Develop Sustainable Strategy and Sustainable policy for fostering both of State and Private Sector.
For details, since 2015, Mr. Hai has participated in the consultancy for the issuing of Resolution no.19by Vietnamese Government on the Improvement of Business Environment and Enhancement of National Competitiveness. Mr. Hai also takes the role of main coordinator in the creation of Corporate Sustainability Index – the first Vietnamese index for measuring sustainability – from 2014 to 2016, and run for the embedded of CSI into Resolution no.19. In which accordingly, VCCI should collaborate with other Ministries and departments for training the application of CSI in business management and ranking companies based on CSI.
Mr. Hai also had particular involvement in the completion of the Project on Evaluating low-carbon technologies in corporate with JICA. Output of the Project is valuable information for the revision of Vietnam’s Nationally Determined Commitment in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions in 2018.
From 2005 to 2011, Mr. Hai took the lead in the implementation of CSR Awards – in which businesses with best practices in corporate social responsibility was named, first applied in shoes and garment, then in multi industries.
Mr. Pham Hoang Hai graduated from Hanoi Water Resources University in 1995. In addition, he was also granted the certificate of Social Audit (SA 8000) – SAI, USA, the certificate of Corporate Social Responsibility – Asian Institute of Management, and Sustainable Business Management – Shumacher College, UK.
