Brigitte has over 20 years experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, particularly the tobacco sector, obtained in Germany, Eastern Europe and Asia. She joined the British Chamber in March 2007. Prior to joining the Chamber she worked on a one year project with Global Demographics, a marketing intelligence company based in Hong Kong and New Zealand. Her responsibilities concentrated upon helping to establish the companies’ presence in South East Asia serving existing clients as well as advancing awareness and business development.
Before joining GDL in February 2006, Brigitte was with Imperial Tobacco, the world’s fourth largest tobacco company, where she held several senior executive positions.
After 3 years as Commercial Director Asia she changed role in early 2003 to assume responsibility for Regional Business Development. Brigitte completed the negotiations with a preferred local co-operation partner in China and prepared and facilitated Imperial’s Pan Asian Strategy formation within one year. Taking over as General Manager South East Asia she was responsible for the businesses in Singapore and Malaysia as well as the development of appropriate market entry strategies for Indonesia and also South Korea. Prior to moving to Singapore, she worked and lived in Moscow where she was Commercial Director Eastern Europe for Reemtsma GmbH, the 3rd largest European Tobacco company at that time.
