Tang Men Kon is currently the Head of Plantation Sustainability & Quality Management, Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, which is the world’s largest palm oil producer, producing 2.8 million tones or 4% of the world’s crude palm oil (CPO) output annually with more than 2.7 million tones is RSPO certified. He holds a Bachelor in Agriculture Science and a Master’s Degree in Business Management and Administration. He has 29 years of working experience with Sime Darby, i.e. 18 years of research and advisory works on oil palm agronomy & production, and 4 years in plantation advisory as Plantation Advisor. Since 2011, he is responsible for the company’s certification and compliance, quality assurance, occupational health & safety, and green technology (composting & biogas etc), including related projects/CSRs such as carbon strategy, wild life protection and green the earth initiatives. He has authored and co-authored 16 technical papers on various fields of oil palm cultivation and management.
