Robert Steele is Founder and Director of Systainability Asia (www.systainabilityasia.com), a multi-disciplinary Thailand based regional consultancy that works closely with national and regional government institutions, international development agencies, private sector companies and education institutions in the Asia-Pacific region to build capacity and find long-term solutions to sustainability challenges. Robert has a BSc. in geology and MSc. in natural resource management. He has worked in the Asia and Pacific region for 20 years on a myriad of sustainability related issues, problems and solutions. Robert specializes in the areas of environmental management, integrative sustainability planning and assessment; systems thinking modeling application and training, participatory stakeholder engagement & consultation, and corporate sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility programme strengthening, assessment and reporting. Robert is a Senior Associate with AtKisson Group, a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP), and a Principle Resource Person/Faculty for the UN Environment-Tongji IESD Asia Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment and Sustainable Development.
Robert is the leading expert on the use of the AtKisson Accelerator Toolkit, which is designed to facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration through a systems thinking approach in sustainable development visioning, planning, assessment and action. Robert is also co-founder and Managing Director of a non-profit sustainability education global initiative – Compass Education (www.compasseducation.org) that assist schools and learning communities to use systems thinking for integration of sustainability in all aspects of teaching and learning.
