Alvin has served as Head of Southeast Asia Coverage for MSCI since 2015. Alvin and his team work with institutional investors, asset and wealth managers, and financial institutions to manage the investment and counterparty risks of these institutions’ investment, trading, lending, and intermediary activities.
Prior to 2015, Alvin has served as Head of Financial Institutions Coverage and Head of Multi-Asset Class Analytics in Asia from 2010 to 2015. He joined the firm in 2010 when RiskMetrics Group became a wholly owned subsidiary of MSCI Inc. Prior to joining MSCI, Alvin spent 11 years at RiskMetrics Group, where he ran the Asia team, whose business lines included portfolio risk management and ESG research, and with four years of product development experience at the New York headquarters. Before that, Alvin was a member of JPMorgan’s Risk Management Advisory team from 1992 to 1998 in both New York and Singapore, where he developed quantitative models for trading activities and advised selected clients on enterprise risk management.
